Gratitude daily . . .

Gratitude daily . . . . A longer than usual fall season.  The leaves have all changed colors and are falling from the trees.  Our neighborhood is extraordinarily beautful right now.  It is filled with hundreds of 30 to 50 foot trees, all of which have turned  to reds, greens and yellows.  The streets and lawns are covered in a blanket of fallen leaves.  The abundant mature trees in this neighborhood was one of the biggest selling points when buying this house, and today, I am thankful to have such a beautiful place to live.

Fall is here . . .

For most of you, Fall has been here for a while. I think there are even some where winter has begun to show. But for those of us in the South, Fall has just shown up (albeit, in the last couple of weeks). And, believe it or not, it is early this year. Fall is my favorite time of the year. And, usually in Texas, it lasts for exactly one day. This year has been different in that it started early and has lasted for a couple of weeks (and is still going!!). Of course, it has been accompanied by an UNGODLY amount of rain (8+ inches already this month, with more happening AS I WRITE). So, when the rain let up for a minute, we ran outside to enjoy the sun and 68 degrees.

And, I introduced the kids to the fun of raking up the leaves. "Really, Tate, raking leaves is SOOOO much fun. Do you want it to be your special job every year? You do! Great. It's yours. Just remember when you are 10, you asked for this job and were excited that it was yours"
