Ice! at the Gaylord Texan

Last weekend we wanted to get in the Christmas spirit, so we bundled up and headed over to the Gaylord Texan to check out their "Ice!" exhibit. The Gaylord is a HUGE resort hotel in Grapevine, TX and they go all out with the holiday decorations. The Ice! exhibit boasts 2-million pounds of sculpted ice. It is really neat to see how elaborate they can get. Just about everything you see, colored or not, is ice. And, they have to keep the exhibit at 9 degrees - thus, the special blue coats. And, I will never get tired of seeing Tate in the blue coat that hit him at the ankles.
See the slideshow on the right for more photos!
The "strangers" in the photos are our friends Jim and Carol. They were willing to tag along with us, though I think they seriously reconsidered after seeing the crowds, followed by Tate collapsing on the ground because he DID NOT want to go on the ice slide. They don't have any children, and I am pretty sure that Tate's display sealed the deal for them. . .
